Holy Communion

To request Communion for someone homebound or ill, call the parish office at 303-322-8042.

"For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him."John 6:55-56

The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." In it is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, Christ himself, our Pasch. It completes Christian initiation: those raised to the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation share with the whole community in the Lord's own sacrifice (CCC 1322-1327).

First Communion for children

In the Archdiocese of Denver's restored order, children receive Confirmation and First Communion together in third grade, after making their First Confession in second grade. Parents are the first and best teachers of their children in the faith; the parish helps, but does not replace, your part. The best preparation is bringing your child to Mass regularly and helping them understand what is happening there.

Families prepare through Family Catechesis. Contact Br. Michael Paul at family@loyoladenver.org.

First Communion for adults

Adults prepare through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), which runs from fall through Easter and is open to Catholics and non-Catholics alike, including anyone who simply wants to understand the Eucharist and why Catholics believe what they do. See Becoming Catholic, or contact Br. Michael Paul at family@loyoladenver.org.
